We had an incredible experience visiting ADM last week and learning from an outstanding group of leaders who gave our students a real-world look at business, leadership, and opportunity. 🙌
A big thank you to Chris Cuddy, who shared the incredible legacy of ADM—one of the oldest companies on the stock exchange, celebrating 125 years next year, and the largest corn processor in the world. He spoke about leadership, growth, and the importance of enjoying your work, reminding students that a great boss and a strong, growing industry can truly shape your career.
Lindsey Williams gave students a valuable look into accounting, highlighting the differences between corporate and private accounting, while encouraging them to know what they want—but stay open to opportunities along the way.
We also learned from Kris Lutt, who introduced us to ADM’s innovative sustainability efforts, including carbon capture—storing CO2 6,000 feet underground—and how ethanol production can evolve into solutions like jet fuel. His journey from a science background into business was a powerful example of how skills can transfer and grow.
Matt Hornback, Senior Director of Sales for North America, shared impactful advice on leadership, networking, and personal growth. He challenged students to build strong relationships, develop self-awareness, and take initiative. His message was clear—be humble, work hard, be coachable, and don’t just take opportunities… elevate them.
From talent development to global impact, our students saw firsthand what it means to operate at a high level. ADM employs approximately 4,000 people in Decatur and over 42,000 worldwide—an incredible example of scale and opportunity right in our community.
We are so grateful to these leaders for investing their time, knowledge, and encouragement into our students. We truly enjoyed our time at ADM!
