We spent the morning at Crawfords Pizza in Mt Zion. Michael and Christine Jump took over ownership after covid in 2023 and shared with us the challenges and rewards of owning a restaurant business. They are also two of our mentors for the Mt Zion IL CEO program. We are so fortunate to have them serving our community.

They stressed the importance of keeping cost of goods down, pricing, budgeting for maintenance as well as overhead, fixed and fluctuating costs, planning for the unexpected, and always being willing to adapt! Michael discussed what a leader is and isn’t, what leading by example means, and even touched on conflict management.

We learned they use 500-700 pounds of cheese and cheese is traded as a commodity so the cost is always fluctuating. Crawford's Pizza & Pub Mt. Zion

Thank you for taking the time to teach us about your business and about yourselves. We are blessed to have them serving our community.
