A big thank you to Jen Wood for spending time with our CEO students on Tuesday!
Jen is not only a valued member of our CEO Board, but also a Realtor with Brinkoetter and Vice President of Maroa Lumber. She shared practical advice our students can use right now as they begin navigating the business world.
One of the biggest takeaways was learning how to properly ask for money-being thoughtful and considerate in your approach, understanding who you represent every time you walk into a business or have a conversation, and remembering that the way you present yourself matters.
Jen also had our students practice introducing themselves and delivering their 30 second elevator pitch to local business owners. This gave them an opportunity to build confidence, sharpen their communication skills, and practice making a strong first impression in a real-world setting.
Jen also challenged our students to think about how they can “produce the WOW”-doing the little things that help you stand out, make an impression, and give people a reason to remember you.
These are the kinds of lessons that go far beyond the classroom. Thank you, Jen, for investing your time, experience, and wisdom in our students and helping them continue to grow as young professionals! 🧡
